Two Men And A Truck helps to build a Bridge tradition
The event spanned three days at Club Willoughby – and attracted 400 players.
North Shore Bridge Club Manager John McIlrath said the competing pairs ranged from beginners to international level – some who played in the Asia Pacific Bridge Federation Championships in Hong Kong last month.
“Bridge is about the only game where experts can play at the same table against “raw” beginners,” he said. The winners were:

Cash prizes for place-winners as well as encouragement prizes were donated by major sponsors AudioClinic, Watermark Residences Castle Cove and Two Men And A Truck.
Our Club has indeed been most fortunate in having Two Men & A Truck as our Major Teams sponsor for the last 11 years,” John said.
The congress is held during the last weekend in June every year, and is the largest bridge event held on the North Shore.
However, aspiring Bridge players do not need to wait another year to stimulate both sides of their brain in the complex card game.
North Shore Bridge Club is the largest Bridge Club in Australia with an astonishing 1100 members, and games are played six days and four nights every week at Club Willoughby and The Willis Recreational Park in Eastern Valley Way.
“Our sessions are “graded” to cope with players of different skill levels,” John said.
“In addition we hold four Introduction to Bridge Courses for the new player. We then have excellent follow-up and supervision sessions for the new players to put their “new-found” skills into practice.”
